To: Bill In 1984 I had one of my students write to the Prime Minister of Iceland to get some volcanic materials. We received 2 volcanic bombs and a cinder. One pf the bombs I cut in half with my rock saw and a volcanic cinder are 5000 years old found North of the captial of Reykavik. They appear amazingly fresh, even though they are so old!
The reason I mention this is because of the recent event in Iceland. I think people would be amazed at the size of the material exploding from the vent.
By the way the volcanic bombs that are currently found in lava tubes are called “Troll-children”
