Pleasant… then Stormy

Our comfortable temperatures continue this Thursday and… absent morning clouds and sprinkles/light rain… we could end up with one of our Top Ten Days of the Year!  Either way… with partly sunny skies (during the afternoon)… light winds… low humidity… and highs in the upper 70s… today will be terrific (again… minus the morning clouds and light precipitation).

Beginning on Friday… however… our weather is about to become more stormy.  A cold front will drop out of our north late Friday… and then stall out in our area through the upcoming weekend.  That front will bring us storm chances into next Monday.  Right now… the Storm Prediction Center has the KETV Channel 7 viewing area under a Slight Risk of severe weather on Friday and Saturday… so our relative lack of severe weather may be coming to an end.

  1. how much total rainfall did we have over the weekend, from Friday night to Monday morining, specifically la vista near 96th and giles?

    thanks,

  2. How much rain did Omaha pick up over the weekend??

  3. Okay, I’ve tried to like this new format, and I still hate it. There are no details; the forecast for overnight is taken down as early as 9 PM at times; even the blogs aren’t updated. If we want details we have to run a video, complete with commercial. Can’t we go back to having updated detailed forecasts? At least during severe weather season, when the forecast can change between broadcasts? I miss the days when you could see something like, “20% chance of storms overnight, more south than in the metro.” “Chance of severe weather, but mostly hail; we’re not expecting tornadic activity.”

  4. This blog has not been updated in TWELVE DAYS. There is a significant threat of severe weather today. Wouldn’t this be a good time to go “beyond the forecast”?

  5. What happened to John?

  6. TWO WEEKS since an update. What a joke. Who is responsible for this?

  7. whats going on?

  9. Can we get an update?

    • Look for blog updates to return next week… when I return to the morning shift. As for the “break” in blog postings… I was performing 2 weeks of Annual Training with my Nebraska Army National Guard unit. We spent time in South Dakota (just east of Rapid City) and near Des Moines.

I apologize for the lack of postings over the past couple of weeks… and plan on writing more regular posts (again) beginning next week.

  10. What happened to John Campbell?

    • Mary,

John left KETV Channel 7 back in May and moved to San Antonio. While he told me that he doesn’t enjoy the heat down there right now… he’s looking forward to the Winter months in southern Texas.

      Thanks for the question!
