We made it down to 12 degrees here in Omaha this morning. That’s cold. In fact, it’s our coldest temperature in 8 months. Yikes! Some spots made it into the single digits, like Columbus and Norfolk which touched 9 and we had a few 7 degree temperatures in Tekamah and Atlantic, Iowa. The cold spot winner though is Carroll with a temperature of 5. Brr.
We’re pretty much done with that cold weather though, so rejoice if you’re not a fan. After a day of highs in the low 30s, we’re heading back to the mid to upper 40s on Saturday and then we might touch 50 on Sunday. This is all thanks to a warm front which will push through the area on Saturday morning. The push of warm air will sometimes create some precip, so that is what we’re watching for tonight and tomorrow morning. However, the bulk of the flurry and light snow activity will stay to our north here in Omaha. With that said, I’m not completely ruling out a few snowflakes Saturday morning.
On Sunday, we’re looking for some clouds, but also some warmer weather. Then a cold front will push through the area Sunday night. It’s not going to bring our temperatures down too much though, so that’s the good news. We’re look at highs this entire week in the 40s to around 50 degrees. If you’re travelling for Thanksgiving, don’t worry too much about the weather as it looks pretty quiet in most spots. Perhaps a bit colder on Friday for shopping and the Husker game and maybe a few sprinkles… Otherwise, shouldn’t be terrible.
Cheers,
JOHN
can you make it not so darn cold please!!:D
