A Very Nice Halloween
October 31, 2008

We reached 70 degrees here in Omaha at the 4pm hour.  Going back into the record books, the last time we touched 70 on Halloween was 2001.  It’s been awhile.  Last year, the weather wasn’t bad… it was a bit chilly though.
The weather stays mild over the course the next few days… After fog develops [...]

A Cold Morning… Soon A Warm-Up
October 28, 2008

We’re seeing our coldest temperatures since April 14th this Tuesday morning… with mid 20s common around the metro.  After that chilly start to the day… look for improving conditions as early as this afternoon.
Check out this warming trend: yesterday was 43… today will be 54… 63 tomorrow… and 68 on Thursday.  In fact… some locations [...]

A Cool Start To The Week
October 27, 2008

Temperatures this morning across the area are a mixture of upper 20s and lower 30s… marking the coldest we’ve seen since mid-April for the metro.  Northwest winds… at around 10 to 20 mph… are making it feel (in some cases) only in the teens.  As the winds calm down tonight… we’ll see even colder temps [...]

What a Wind!!
October 26, 2008

Well, if you had the chance to step outside today… it wasn’t the greatest weather.  We had a lot of sunshine (few clouds) and no precipitation.  However, the wind was out of control.  Had a lot of reports across Iowa of 60mph gusts… here are some maximum wind gusts around our area for the day:

Now… It Gets Chilly
October 21, 2008

While Monday wasn’t a warm day (highs were only in the mid 60s), it still looks like it will turn out to be the warmest day of this week.  We’ll see lots of clouds today (along with a chance for light rain by late afternoon) which will keep us in the mid 50s.  Factor in [...]

Snow?!!?
October 20, 2008

It’s the word no one wants to hear… but it always happens.  It’s also not unheard of at this time of year.  While I don’t think we’ll see any snowflakes here in Omaha.. I do think there could be a couple area in our viewing are that do.  That would be Norfolk and the surrounding [...]

The Big Chill…
October 20, 2008

After a relatively mild weekend… with highs in the 60s on Saturday and 70s Sunday… look for a big cool-down this week.  A cold front that slid across the area early Monday morning will drop us back into the mid-60s to start the work-week.  But the really big changes begin on Tuesday.
We’ll see our skies [...]

Oh Dear…
October 18, 2008

I hope you got out to enjoy the perfect fall weather on Saturday.  We started out a little cool and cloudy, but once the clouds burned off the weather turned great.  Things are changing quickly over the next few days, so get ready for a bit of a roller-coaster.
First of all, a good little punch [...]

A Break From The Rain
October 15, 2008

Wednesday marked the fifth day in a row where at least a trace of rain was reported at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield.  For those who are tired of the damp weather… the good news is that the precipitation will be completely out of the KETV Channel 7 viewing area by late morning.  Check out the rainfall totals [...]

A Cool (But Not Too Cold) Week Ahead
October 14, 2008

Average highs for mid-October run in the upper 60s… and we won’t be too far below that this week.  Admittedly… it will be much cooler than last week… but record lows are now in the lower 20s… so it could be alot worse.
The other weather talk for today deals with rain.   Check out some of [...]
