Labor Day Weekend…

We saw our coolest temperatures in the metro since late May on Friday.  That’s just over 3 months since we dropped into the lower 50s.  While we’ll see another comfortable morning on Saturday… look for a big warm-up over the extended holiday weekend.  High temps from Saturday through Labor Day (Monday) will either approach or exceed 90.

After that… a cold front combined with what will be the remnants of Hurricane Gustav will brings clouds, rain chances, and cooler weather for most of the rest of the next work-week.  Speaking of Gustav… he was upgraded to a minimal hurricane late Friday afternoon… and is forecasted to become a major hurricane over the weekend.  Current computer models forecasts take the track of Gustav to the central Gulf Coast… near New Orleans… early next week.
