Goodbye 2007
December 30, 2007

We’ve got the rest of today and all of tomorrow and then it’s a big goodbye to 2007. It looks like 2008 will come in on a frigid note, but it’s a note that won’t last very long though.
First of all, the first little piece of energy will head through our area tonight. [...]

End of Year Weather
December 29, 2007

Saturday was a fairly typical late December day… a little sun, cold temps, some melting snow, frost to start. Can’t complain too much about days like this, when we all know they can be much much worse.
Sunday should follow with another typical day. However, we’ll add a little more cloudiness and maybe a couple snowflakes. [...]

Boring Weather
December 28, 2007

For people that love the snow… sorry. For people that love weather in the mid 40s or 50s during the winter… sorry. For people that love that blast of cold air when you walk out the door… I have one day for you. Otherwise, it’s just late December weather over the course [...]

Warmer Mid/Late Next Week: Major Pattern Change
December 28, 2007

Hi Friends,
Some of you may remember that in our Winter Outlook issued back on Halloween night, Bill and I said that we were in for a warmer and drier than average January and February.
I believe the signal of this change is on the horizon as both the European and American Models have a well-advertised warm-up [...]

Light Snow Late Tomorrow Night & Friday Morning
December 27, 2007

Hi Friends,
So the heaviest band of snow certainly missed Omaha and Lincoln and we ended up with about a dusting of snow. We knew this was possible, but the models were very inconsistent and are really having a very tough time handling these fast moving systems. Determining how much moisture each one will be [...]

Quick Update
December 26, 2007

It looks like we’ll have 1 to 2 inches across parts of the metro. I think most spots will be closer to the 1 inch mark and areas in the south metro will struggle to get that much.
Here’s the latest map:
A final Merry Christmas!John

Updated Snow Information
December 25, 2007

It’s not a major snow storm, but it could cause a couple of inconveniences. Yesterday, I was mentioning the possibility of snow for Christmas, but the system has slowed down considerably. That means it will impact our area tonight and Wednesday morning. Since it is slower, it could also drop 1 to [...]

Snow Starts Later & Appears More Significant
December 25, 2007

Hi Friends,
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
This is Roger Schwartz. John will be in later today.
The snow that was expected today looks like it probably won’t arrive until well after dark tonight, so it won’t really be as “white” today as it looked yesterday morning. The storm system responsible for this snow has slowed down some [...]

Greetings!
December 25, 2007

Apologies for the quiet and slow blog this past week… I didn’t realize both Roger and I would be out of town. If I did, I would have mentioned something on here.
Anyway, just sitting here tonight and I thought I would write a short little snippet about the weather. As you can [...]

Saturday’s Snowfall, and Christmas Snow
December 24, 2007

Hi Friends,
Just wanted to pass along the snowfall map from the strong storm that just clipped our viewing area this past Saturday. Falls City and Clarinda had the highest amounts with about 2.5″ and 3″ respectively.
Some light snow is possible across the area tomorrow around noontime or so (Christmas Day) with accumulations not expected to [...]
