It’s Husker Time
August 31, 2007

After a couple nice days, things will get a little warmer on Saturday. However, the good news is that it won’t be unbearable.. but maybe just a tad uncomfortable when you’re sitting at Memorial Stadium. If you just dress cool though, you’ll be okay. We’ll see a temp around 84 or so [...]

Wind and Heat
August 26, 2007

Temperatures on Sunday were just a bit warmer than what we saw on Saturday… As we head toward Monday… we’ll see the temps increase even more. Highs on Monday will be in the low to mid 90s across the viewing area. If you stepped outside Sunday late afternoon, you probably felt [...]

Wow… This is nice…
August 25, 2007

It’s one week until the meteorological Autumn starts (in weather, Fall goes Sept/Oct/Nov and the “official” start of Fall is the Astronomical seasons, which is September 23rd at 5:51am). It definitely felt much more like Autumn today than Summer.. High temps across the area ended up in the upper 70s and lower 80s. [...]

Cool Pics and Sleep
August 24, 2007

These are some pretty cool pictures we got from some NewsWatchers…
The first pictures come from Lincoln… and were taken Thursday morning at 10am.
I think it’s a little outflow boundary coming off some of the showers and t’storms in the area. Of course, the clouds are pretty low to the ground…
The second cool pictures come [...]

Rain Ending Means A Perfect Weekend?
August 24, 2007

Rain that fell across the area Thursday afternoon through night didn’t add up to much here in Omaha. However, locations to the south, saw quite a bit more.

A couple other amounts:Valley: 0.11″Bennington: 0.41″Sidney, IA: 2.46″Rulo, NE: 2.76″Ft Calhoun: 1.21″
While these rainfall amounts are impressive in spots… they are actually quite paltry compared to what they [...]

Rainfall Amounts & Weather Talk
August 23, 2007

In case you haven’t noticed, it’s been a bit wet lately. Amazing how things work out… May was incredibly wet… June incredibly dry…. July a little better and now in August we’ve seen a very healthy amount of rain. Over the past 24 hours, Eppley has picked up over 2 inches!
Here’s the map:
A couple other [...]

Wild Weather…
August 21, 2007

Last night’s thunderstorms across the city were some of the strongest that we’ve seen in awhile. Winds gusted well above 70mph and after viewing some of the damage… I’d say there were some gusts in the city above 80mph.
The list of severe weather reports is a long one… and some spots that got [...]

A Quick Update
August 20, 2007

I’ll do my best to update over the course of the next couple of weeks. Roger is hanging out in the Tropics on his honeymoon, so my schedule is all messed up… so I’ll do my best.
Anyway, after a few showers Sunday afternoon…things have quieted down quite a bit. However, that’s not the [...]

Rainfall Totals
August 16, 2007

Areas of rain fell across the viewing area Thursday… the heaviest fell near Columbus, where some spots in Platte County got 2 to 3 inches.
The rain and the clouds were helpful in keeping those temperatures down.. While temperatures were held in check in the upper 70s and lower 80s, the humidity was the big [...]
