A Record Wet May?
May 30, 2007

It will be a close shave whether we can beat out the old record of the wettest May ever set back in 1883! The record is 11.29.” So far, Eppley Airfield is up to 10.42.” So we are still about 0.9″ shy of the record, but well within reach assuming we can get another bout [...]

The Beauty of a 3 Day Weekend
May 27, 2007

Ok.. so not everyone has a three day weekend (me included.. I worked all three days that everyone else has off), but that doesn’t lessen the beauty of having three days off of work. What do people want when they have three days off? Nice weather of course… what’s the use of having [...]

Memorial Day Weekend
May 26, 2007

Hope your Memorial Day weekend is treating you kindly. So far, we’ve been quite lucky as far as rain goes and I think that trend will continue… which is great news for all those people out there camping. And really having rain overnight and early in the morning is probably the best time for a [...]

May 24, 2007

Check out the rain totals from last evening thru this morning:

We will dry out today and tomorrow, before more storms move in Saturday.

Storms: Delayed but not Forgotten
May 23, 2007

A sluggish front is finally going to bring the much advertised rain and thunderstorms to the area late this afternoon and overnight.
Heavy rain and a few severe storms with large hail can be expected. A major concern will be watching the Nishnabotna valley of SW Iowa and the potential for river flooding there tonight [...]

Okay to Start the Week
May 20, 2007

I headed off this past week to the great state of Michigan to watch my brother-in-law get married off. Thanks to some less than perfect weather, I spent the night in the O’Hare Airport on Tuesday night. (And really, anything less than absolutely perfect brings the possibility of delays at O’Hare. [...]

Storm System Next Week
May 20, 2007

Friends,
It looks like the major storm system for next week will be arriving later than I earlier thought. It now appears like the bulk of the shower and thunderstorm activity will hold off until Tuesday into Wednesday. Severe weather remains a distinct possibility during this time-frame as plenty of moisture should be in [...]

Super Fabulous Weekend!
May 19, 2007

Enjoy the warm temps and sunshine! Our next chance for organized severe weather looks like late Monday into Tuesday. This could be a significant event. We’ll need to wait and see.
Memorial Day weekend is a week off and the latest reports show that gas prices will not stop folks from hitting the road in even [...]

A Nice Cool Morning
May 17, 2007

It was a cool, some would even say “chilly” start today. A Canadian airmass, clear skies, and light winds made the perfect recipe for a mid-May chill.
Check out these low temperatures!

Wayne held at the freezing mark for several hours. The average low temperature for May 17th is 51.
We have a sunny warm weekend ahead!

Roger

Tranquility Base: Great Weather Ahead
May 16, 2007

Super fab weather continues….aside from some annoying allergens in the air and a fast growing mosquito problem, there really isn’t much of note weatherwise. The upcoming weekend looks fantastic with temps in the mid 80’s both days. The next chance for any rain or thunderstorms comes late Monday into Tuesday.
Regards,
Roger
