This is serving as the first post of Campbell’s Corner. Yeah, it’s kind of a cheesy name, but I came up with it all by myself… so it’ll work.
You’re probably wondering the types of things you’ll be seeing in this space… First and foremost, you’ll be reading as much discussion about the current forecast and weather as possible. Every forecast contains opinions on what will happen and how each of the different computer models will handle it. Of course, we can’t squeeze all of that information into our weathercasts, so this should let me go a little more in-depth with what we’re thinking.
However, I’m the weekend meteorologist. I usually don’t forecast the weather in-depth during the week. If there is something major happening (like a possible blizzard or severe weather outbreak) I will, so I’ll talk about that forecast on here when I have time. When I work during the week though, I’m out and about reporting on the news of the day. Sometimes it is weather/science related and sometimes it is not. If there’s an angle to the story that is interesting (perhaps I met someone interesting or saw something cool) then I can bring it to you on here.
We also get a lot of emails, asking us questions about past weather or questions that have interesting answers. I can bring those to you here as well. People will also bring up past weather events most of us have forgotten about, so it might be interesting to mention those.
Finally, I’m a regular person too. (However, some friends might beg to differ on my “normalness”.) I’ll be getting married at the end of July in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from Papillion-LaVista and Creighton University. So, with that in mind, I might find something interesting in my daily life, which I’ll bring to you here.
I hope you enjoy reading. And I hope you’ll have something to say in return. The comments section will be open and you can always email me at jucampbell@hearst.com
Cheers,
John Campbell
